Thames Valley Police increase their Sepura radio fleet

24th April 2014 - Thames Valley Police have extended their long-standing relationship with Sepura, choosing the SRG3900 GPS to replace 675 of their existing fixed and vehicle-based mobile radios.

As the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales, the Force serves more than two million residents throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including rural areas with sub-optimal network coverage.

After a rigorous selection process, focusing on factors such as PEI interface capability and gateway functionality, the Force selected the SRG3900 GPS for its superlative performance: Sepura SRG gateway radios - which provide a mobile communication system that 'goes with the user' to an incident - provide the greatest operational range of any TETRA terminal on the market.

Having long been users of Sepura hand-held radios, the Force also chose the SRG3900 GPS to capitalise on the common user interface to reduce training costs.
