Sepura announces office relocation

1st January 2014

Sepura to relocate head office to Cambridge Research Park after signing a 15 year lease for the site's Building 9000.

1st October 2014 - Sepura, the Cambridge-based technology company, will be relocating its head office to the city's Research Park. The company, currently based in the Chesterton area of the city, has signed a 15 year lease for the site's Building 9000.

Gordon Watling, Sepura's CEO, commented, "The growth Sepura has enjoyed over the past 12 years, coupled with our continuous investment in new product development and new markets, has meant that we have out-grown our existing premises and made it essential that we move to a site where we can achieve our full potential and maintain our leading status in the global critical communications market.

"The move to new premises is an investment which will enable us to deliver a significantly improved and more spacious environment for our employees, and ensure that we continue to attract the high calibre talent we need to fulfil our ambitious goals. I am also delighted that we are able to make this long term commitment to the Cambridge area, and continue our successful relationship with the region."

The announcement follows Sepura's acquisition of 3T, the Austrian supplier of Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) infrastructure, Helsinki-based developer Portalify and, earlier this year, Fylde Micro, the UK-based radio trunking solutions company.

Sepura was founded in 2002 and floated on the stock exchange in 2007,although the organisation has been a major employer in the Cambridge area for many years by virtue of a history which can be traced back through Philips and Pye. It is expected that the relocation will take place in early 2016.
