1st January 2014

Sepura announces a prestigious contract award to its long-standing German partner Selectric GmbH for the supply of TETRA radios to the fire brigades in the region of Middle Franconia in Germany.

A prestigious contract has been awarded to Sepura's long-standing German partner Selectric GmbH for the supply of TETRA radios to the fire brigades in the region of Middle Franconia in Germany. The contract is for the supply to the Middle Franconian procurement organisations of over 2,500 Sepura TETRA radios, comprising a combination of Sepura's market-leading STP8000, STP8X Intrinsically-Safe ATE/IECEx hand-portables and SRG3900 mobile radios plus accessories.

Further to a strict and highly competitive official tender evaluation process started in the autumn of 2013, Selectric's proposal, including Sepura TETRA radios and accessories, emerged as the clear winner. Hendrik Pieper, General Manager for Selectric commented: "We were successful because we understood the communication needs of the Middle Franconian buying organisation and were able to present them with a solution of superior technology that also enabled them to meet their stringent budgetary requirements".

Kenneth Hubner, Regional Director for Sepura commented: "This is another landmark success for Selectric and Sepura. Selectric's knowledge of the German public safety market and our market-leading TETRA radios are a powerful combination which will hopefully enable us to mirror the success we have already achieved with the police and other fire organisations in the largest TETRA market in the world".

Middle Franconia is one of the three administrative regions of Franconia in Bavaria, Germany, comprising 7 counties and 5 cities. It is in the west of Bavaria and adjoins the state of Baden-Wurttemberg. The administrative seat is Ansbach, while the most populated city is Nuremberg.
