All Ambulance Trusts in England have chosen Sepura for their new generation, emergency-response communication systems that will operate on O2 Airwave network.

Sepura will supply over 18,000 TETRA radio terminals to the Ambulance Trusts during the installation phase of the Ambulance Radio Replacement Programme launched by the Department of Health in 2005.

This will be the largest deployment of TETRA radios anywhere in the world to this type of emergency-response user. Sepura offers a complete solution for accident and emergency personnel.

This comprises a combination of vehicle-based gateway radios, lightweight hand-held radios and special features specifically developed by Sepura for ambulance services.

In addition, Sepura's solution will be installed in a wide range of other vehicles, including rapid response vehicles and motorcycles and not just ambulances. Deployment will commence immediately and extend over the next 24 months.

Graham Matthews, CEO for Sepura, said: "This is not only a tremendous recognition of Sepura's technical expertise, but also of our long-standing commitment to understanding the needs of public safety organisations and developing solutions that meet these needs."
