The class-leading STP8000 Series of hand-held radios have been designed and built to withstand harsh operational environments and extreme weather conditions.
Exceptional audio performance can overcome the extreme background noise experienced within an airport, plus high (1.8 watt) transmitter power extends network coverage where lower powered radios struggle. Coverage can be further enhanced by Sepura’s powerful SRG3500 Gateway radio with 10 watts transmitter power. When operating in Gateway Mode, the SRG3500 acts as a relay point for other hand-held and vehicle radios, stretching the trunked network into any black-spots or to more distant users on the fringes of coverage. Sepura’s intuitive user interface, common to the hand-held and in-vehicle radios, allows airport workers to move between hand-held and vehicle sets with confidence.
The extensive data capabilities of Sepura’s radios (Status, SDS, WAP and Packet Data) allow seamless integration with airport IT systems to ensure end-to-end data communications. The versatility of the radio is enhanced by Short Data Applications (SDA), User Programmable Soft Keys and Dynamic Talk Group allocation keeping personnel within working groups fully informed on specific projects or incoming flights. Optional GPS reporting allows the most appropriate resource to be deployed for each task. The integral GPS device is extremely sensitive, allowing users to be often tracked both indoor and when undercover.
A dedicated emergency button can summon urgent assistance – automatically setting up a priority voice call to alert the control centre and colleagues within the same Talk Group. Lone worker safety can be further enhanced with Sepura’s Man Down functionality. The Man Down reporting option uses multi-dimensional, motion sensing technology to monitor the orientation of the radio user. If certain parameters are exceeded, Man-Down functionality will automatically place the radio into the emergency mode generating an alert, complete with location report directed to a predefined address.
