Sales Engineer - Latin America

Sepura's LATAM business requires technical support in Spanish/Portuguese and on local timeline.  The technical support needs to extend to answering questions on technical specifications that are written in Spanish or Portuguese and may be part of a bid.  The role therefore will combine with that of bid engineer.  The role will be split as follows:-

Pre Sales Engineering support including:
- Sales presentations, product demonstration preparation and delivery to partners and end user organizations
- Technical liaison between customers and Sepura
- Technical consultancy
- Product Training

Post Sales Engineering Support:
- Product programming, configuration and fleetmapping optimisation & consultancy
- Anlayze, report  and manage any customer satisfaction issues arising during the project
- Deliver Sepura product training programs
- Project Management
- Identify opportunities for sales of Sepura value added services and products
- Assist in the establishment of Sepura 2nd Level Repair Centre

Role will involve extensive liaison with Sepura product management, central customer support, international sales and development engineering departments of Sepura.
Role may require security clearance for some projects.
Role will require extensive travel within LatAm and includes additional travel to Europe and elsewhere on a less regular basis for shows and exhibitions.
Regular travel to Sepura UK Headquarters may be required for product training and other meetings


Technical Bid Support:
• To review customer bid request material received from customers or partners, such as pre-qualification questionnaires, RFQs, tenders.
• To generate the bid plans in accordance with bid response time frames, in collaboration with other bid stakeholders.
• To ensure that agreed commitments are delivered by the owners; to flag delays and resource issues as appropriate. To organise and facilitate bid initiation meetings and reviews.
• To understand the bid strategy and contribute to it where appropriate.
• To engage technical input (acting as Bid Engineer on selected bids as required) when technical compliance statements, and/or non standard technical solutions are required involving Product Management and Cambridge Bid Team.

• To generate a record of bid costs ensuring that all aspects of Sepura’s commitments for the full duration of the project are taken into account including products, features, implementation and support services, highlighting risks and their avoidance or mitigation actions.
• To make bid pricing recommendations, in collaboration with Sales, based on relevant data from other bids and/or available competitive intelligence  . 
• To review the technical solutions and confirm consistency between compliance response, P+L and bid strategy.
• To produce the bid Profit and Loss statements.
• To present the bids to Management for review and signoff prior to submission ensuring compliance with the Company’s bid approval rules.
• To generate the commercial quotation (including Letters or Authority) etc

• To maintain the bid files and feed bid databases according to Sepura procedures and industry best practice.
To participate in specific bid initiatives as agreed with Head of Bid Management and to recommend improvements

Technical Skills (essential)

• Qualified Engineer, preferably with minimum 5 years experience in the Electronics or Radio Communications Engineering.
• Must have previous experience in customer facing role in areas such as field or project engineering or sales support role.
• Ideal would be experience with TETRA products.
• Previous experience in Trunked or Digital trunked radio or other wireless technologies is preferred.

Personal Attributes (Essential)

Good communication and presentation skills. Written and Oral competence in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Personal presentation in accordance with professional image of Sepura.

Candidates should be familiar with, and enjoy, regular local and international travel and willing to work independently with minimal supervision. Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate the business and travel needs of the role.
